TIP of the Month - December 2011

There is NO snow, so move to plan b and take advantage of free entry to the Olympic Museum in Lausanne until January 29th 2012 when it will close for nearly 2 years for renovation and modernisation.

I visited the Museum last weekend with my two boys and we really enjoyed the different exhibitions such as the Olympic torches and medals as well as the Summer and Winter games displays. There is a restaurant/café on the 2nd floor and a souvenir shop at the entrance level. The highlight for us was the videothek downstairs where, with your entry ticket, you can access the archives and sit in booths to watch previous Olympic events.

Allow about 3 hours to get the most out of the museum and if the weather is nice, you can then enjoy the lakeside at Ouchy where there are plenty of cafés and restaurants.
